Acacia Wood End Grain Chopping Board. Why end grain?
Each knife cut goes between the wood fibers, rather than cutting through them. These fibers close back up after the knife exits. Your knives are cutting on a naturally forgiving surface, keeping your knives edge sharper for longer.
One surface includes a drainage channel around the perimeter. Flip the chopping board over and you have a smooth surface so you can use as a charcuterie plate. Around the edge you'll find two finger recesses to aid carrying.
How to care for your end grain chopping board?
Wash your cutting board frequently in warm soapy water then rinse thoroughly. Use salt or lemon to remove unwanted odours.
Dry the board immediately after and let sit on its edge to prevent moisture build up and possible wood swelling.
Occasionally rub with a light mineral oil to feed the wood.
