A mezzaluna is a type of knife with a thick, curved blade (its name means “half-moon” in Italian). 

Ours has two blades. A traditional design with an olive wood handle at each end, 

A mezzaluna knife is used with a rhythmic back-and-forth rocking motion to quickly reduce food to an even size. 

Use to finely chop herbs, aromatics, and vegetables.  but also used for cutting cheese, nuts, chocolate and meat.

How to care for your Olive Wood?

- You should feed the wood every now and then by wiping with a little olive oil.
- Wipe with warm water and a little soap if required. Allow to dry.
- Do not put in dishwasher as the surface will be damaged.
