Sublime. Expensive, but worth it.
Supreme Vanilla Pods - Organic (Each)
Supreme organic vanilla pods vary in size between 15cm to 20cm and each pod has extra special care taken to look after them to ensure a high level of vanillin and good moisture content. These pods will not disappoint!
Pods of this grade have a strong vanilla flavour with smokey undertones, ideal for flavouring where a good vanilla flavour is required.
Organic pods are grown by professional farms many of them run by families which specialise in maintaining Organic standards while Fairtrade farmers always make sure they take extra care to attract Fairtrade traders.
This extra care helps to make sure the vanillin yield per pod is high.
Each pod weighs approximately 3.4g in this batch.

How To Extract Vanilla Seeds From A Pod?
To remove the seeds from whole beans, press the bean flat against a cutting board. Use the tip of a paring knife to split the bean, making a slit lengthwise, from tip to tip. Use the back of the paring knife to scrape the seeds from the center of each half. If your recipe calls for sugar, you can use some of the sugar to scrub any remaining vanilla seeds and resin off the pod wall.
How To Store Your Vanilla Bean?
We deliver your vanilla bean pods wrapped in biodegradable cling film and suggest the following:
Storage Items Needed:
Airtight Glass Jar, Glass Vial, Tupperware Container or a sheet of wax paper.
Wrap your vanilla beans in either wax paper or plastic wrap and store in an airtight glass or Tupperware container. Be sure to squeeze out as much air as possible from the container to prevent the vanilla beans from drying out.
An airtight container should preserve vanilla beans (depending on vanilla variety) for as long as 8-12 months. However to benefit most from the flavour of the vanilla you should use it as soon as you can.
You should never store your vanilla beans in the refrigerator.
Refrigeration will dry out your beans and excess moisture can promote a particular type of mold specific to vanilla. We recommend storing your airtight container in a cool, dark place such as a pantry or basement.
Vanilla beans should be aired regularly. Simply remove the beans from the container every few weeks to circulate the air for approximately 10-15 minutes.
Vanilla beans that have been stored correctly in ideal conditions can last upwards to two years. We recommend buying quantities that you intend on using within 6-8 months.
