Did you know we actually make our own candles? To date (Nov 2025) we have sold over 2000 candles, each one hand poured and labelled in our little workshop for sale in our Pocklington shop. Over time we have learned a few things, and one question we have been regulary asked by our eco-conscious customers is can we refill their used candle jars? Customers were referrring to the candles we make in the screw top glass amber jars. Unfortunately we had to say no because of two problems:

The problems:

1. The shape of the amber jars with their narrrow opening and wider internal diameter does not allow us to simply drop in a refill candle.
2. The sticky wick adhesive we use when making these candles is difficult to remove from the base of the candle jar so anchoring a new wick to the base of the jar becomes impractical.

The solutions:

1. We have launched a new line of luxury refillable candle vessels made from parallel sided Italian glass. These new glass jars allow us to make and sell candle refills. (You can buy the refillable glass jars here)
2. We have invented Magwick™ - a magnetic wick retention system that removes the need for sticky wick adhesives.
